Avion Express, a Lithuania-based airline operating globally in the ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) leasing sector, has moved into a new office building near Vilnius Airport. The modern facility adds to the growing cluster of aviation companies in this part of the city and reflects the continued development of the aviation industry in Lithuania.

Avion Express has experienced rapid growth in recent years. The company recently announced the acquisition of a new Air Operator Certificate and the opening of a new office in Brazil, alongside ongoing efforts to establish operations in Mexico and the Philippines. The company’s administrative headquarters, now housed in the new Vilnius office, employs 460 people—more than two and a half times the number in 2021, when the staff numbered just 130.

According to Laura Macutkevic, Vice President People and Culture at Avion Express, the new office was designed not only to accommodate the growing team but also to serve as a hub for training pilots and cabin crew:

“Avion Express is a global company, with part of our team constantly operating around the world. Our team includes not only administrative professionals from various departments, but also more than 1,300 crew members and aircraft mechanics. We designed the new office specifically to meet the needs of an aviation business—with plenty of collaborative spaces, dedicated areas for 24/7 flight operations teams, rest zones, and classrooms for training and testing pilots, cabin crew, and technical staff.”

Speaking about the importance of the new office, Macutkevic emphasized the value of collaboration in a company that brings together people from diverse cultures:

“With team members from 64 nationalities, Avion Express is truly global. We’re increasingly seeing that certain aviation professionals simply aren’t available locally, so we aim to attract talent from all around the world. The new office is, first and foremost, a place where people can work comfortably and feel part of the team. In aviation, we often say, ‘nothing gets done alone,’ so collaboration and direct communication across departments is essential. We hope this new space will strengthen that even further.”

The office was built to meet the highest sustainability standards. It features energy-efficient heat pumps for heating and cooling, and the interior design avoids plastic in favor of natural materials like wood and glass. The building includes 555 workstations, 27 meeting rooms, 7 training classrooms, a 200-square-meter kitchen, and a large private terrace.

Currently, Avion Express operates a fleet of 55 Airbus A320 aircraft. Its clients include major airlines such as Eurowings, PLAY, SunExpress, TAP Air Portugal, Transavia, Viva, Wizz Air, and others. The company is part of the world’s largest ACMI operator group, Avia Solutions Group.
