Great news for Avion Express Flight Operations department! With the recent changes of the structure, we have many talents stepping forward into the new roles. One of them is Ilario Tolini who has recently been promoted to the Deputy Head of Flight Operations. We are excited to share a little bit about Ilario and get to know his personal take on aviation and why it’s important for him.
Ilario first started his career as a pilot and there are many reasons why he decided to be one. “On the one hand, it was my passion for aviation and desire to fly. On the other hand, I was attracted to the adventure and excitement of travelling to different places. Additionally, the opportunity to work for a reputable and respected airline was a major factor in deciding to pursue a career in aviation.
Aside from that, the pilot’s job is one of the most challenging and fulfilling, providing a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. At this point in my career, the ability to apply my skills in exciting ways is the most important thing to me”, says Ilario.
Ilario Tolini has worked as a Captain, Instructor and Examiner for several years. Furthermore, he had the privilege and opportunity to be involved in different experiences as the Head of Flight Operations and the Head of Training. During these times, he acquired valuable skills that he is ready to use in his new position.
Ilario says that throughout the course of his career, he has worked on numerous projects that he is proud of and has had the chance to collaborate with many people from various backgrounds. “I believe the mix of projects our company manages is the perfect way to broaden my horizons and challenge my skills. My career has prepared me for this role, and I’m ready for my next challenge”, he shares.
Ilario Tolini is from Sicily, the largest island in Italy, and he thinks that both summer and winter are the best times to visit this true paradise.
On his free time, Ilario enjoys exploring new trails on his motorcycle. “My last trip was from Sicily to Austria on Lake Faak. I also like running and practising other sports, such as Tennis, Kitesurfing and Muay Thai; at the same time, I keep my mind trained by reading”, he shares.
